Sabar Sabar Rekk is a Senegalese/Swedish group of artists working with West African dance and music, based in Malmo, Sweden. Our main productions are dance shows with live music on stage. The dancers perform choreographies and individual improvisations, interacting with the musicians and the audience. West African rythms from drums like the talking drum tama, sabar, thiol and kutiro mix and integrate with those from the 21-stringed West African harp-lute kora. The voices of the singers are energetic and emotional. Mystical West African masks, such as the Simba, appear and disappear on stage as a part of the narrative.
